“If we needed to limit our outreach to only one program, that program would be sending kids to Camp Wyldewood. We are sending around 100 kids to camp each year, all expenses paid. These are not just kids from our congregation but kids from all over our county. Many of these kids have become Christians, or have matured greatly in their Christian lives from the Camp Wyldewood experience. I highly recommend that elders consider sending as many kids to Camp Wyldewood as possible. It is making an eternal difference in our congregation.”--Lou
“I once
was asked if I had a theme for being a youth minister, and after
years of going to Camp
Wyldewood I decided
on, "God do you Love Me?" Most kids have been taught many times
about the stories in the Bible, but if we don't answer the question, then all
of our teaching is in vain. Camp
Wyldewood helps to answer
that question by providing good counselors that care about the kids. I
believe that the answer only comes from those that reflect the image of God,
and Wyldewood is a place for kids to see the reflection of God's love.”--Joe
“Each year,
Camp Wyldewood is one of the most spiritually
rewarding experiences in which our group participates. Wyldewood provides
a fun, encouraging environment rooted in Bible study, development of spiritual
disciplines, and worship. Our kids look forward to Wyldewood all year
long because of the relationships they develop with other campers and the camp
staff. Additionally, they know that they will encounter Jesus at
Wyldewood and be challenged in love and given the tools to become more like Him.”--John
"I am
ALWAYS overly impressed with the counselors and staff at Wyldewood. They
pour so much heart and soul into the kids during their short time with
them. It amazes me each year to see the impact that a few
spiritually-minded college kids and liberal amounts of praise and worship time
can do for my focus on Him! I have taken kids for 7 years and have
no plans to stop."--Jeff
"When I was heading up
the driveway of Camp
Wyldewood, I knew
that this was a special place because to the right of the driveway I
noticed a tree trunk that had been carved out into the shape of three
crosses. Seeing that, left me with the impression that Wyldewood was
a Christ-centered camp and that anyone who stepped foot on the grounds was
going to be impacted by the love of Jesus. From the warm and inviting
counselors to the Bible class teachers and speakers, everyone who
works at the camp has their eyes focused on Jesus. Not only
is Wyldewood a great place to have fun swimming, hiking, horse
back riding, and meeting new friends, it also provides a
safe atmosphere to think about things that are spiritual and get
to know our best friend, Jesus Christ."--Brian
